The Twelve Slightly Dysfunctional Days of Christmas

An arrangement of various Christmas and Hanukkah carols in a festive setting surrounded by the Twelve Days of Christmas. Quotations include “O Come All Ye Faithful”, “Carol of the Bells”, “Feliz Navidad”, Tchaikovsky’s “Dance of the Reed Flutes”, “I Have a Little Dreidel.”

Theme and Variations on “Simple Gifts”

An arrangement of the traditional Shaker hymn “Simple Gifts” for brass ensemble. Simple Gifts, a quintessentially American tune, was made famous by Copland’s usage of the hymn in his “Appalachian Spring.” This arrangement uses a theme and variations form to present the hymn in various different contexts, similar to Copland’s treatment of the tune in his work.

A simple arrangement of the classic American tune “When the Saints Go Marchin’ In” for school concert band. The arrangement is intentionally simplified and intended for younger groups to have fun playing.
