During my time with Sibelius, I learned a lot about how to tell stories about software products: how to connect with customers and their needs, and show solutions to their problems, and how to translate that into actionable content.

When Finale exited the market in 2024, Sibelius was thrust into needing marketing content fast. As the resident notation market expert, I pivoted to produce blog posts and videos for their 2024.10 release. Over $10,000 of new revenue could be directly traced to those blog posts.

Written Content

Sibelius Essential Shortcuts Sheets

This “cheat sheet” of keyboard shortcuts was hugely popular within the community. The 300-odd shortcuts in Sibelius had to be carefully curated into a list of the most essential shortcuts. Beginner users were able to quickly get up to speed.

Videos

New releases of Sibelius occasionally needed videos to explain features. These were also edited by me directly in Adobe Premiere Pro.

Livestreams

In a first for Avid, I produced real-time livestreams where I would use Sibelius in different contexts, showing not only how music engraving is created but also clever tricks specific to Sibelius.

Interview with Scoring Notes

Philip Rothman of Scoring Notes interviewed me when we were at the MOLA conference. In an Avid first, I represented Sibelius at the conference for highly specialized users: orchestra and band music librarians.
