I’ve been a music engraver for 20 years.

Music Engraving is a meticulous and specialized artform. Each type of ensemble requires different considerations: how large or small the staff size, paper size, idiomatic conventions, lyrics for vocal works, and individual parts considerations like page turns. Each score requires thousands of decisions, big and small. Not simply graphical choices, but to anticipate the psychology of the musician. Good engraving allows them to read the music efficiently and clearly leading to a better performance.

Below are examples of various music engraving projects I’ve done over the years. Several scores are included as example scores for Sibelius, added when I worked there as Senior Product Designer. There is also a list highlighting my published works as editor, arranger, and engraver.
